These 5"x7"/6"x8" speakers, thanks to JBL's patented Plus One architecture, which expands the surface area of the polypropylene woofer for impressive bass. Balanced dome tweeters handle the high notes with ease, especially when powered by an aftermarket radio or amp. JBL built these GT7 speakers to handle up to 60 watts RMS, but with a design geared toward maximum efficiency, you'll gain superior performance even from a factory radio. Product Highlights: Plus One Woofer Cones: The Plus One speaker cones offer more surface area than other speakers that fit in the same size opening. This is accomplished by using a new basket design and hi-roll surround. The result is greater bass output and an increase in efficiency. Balanced Dome Tweeter: Each speaker has a PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) balanced dome tweeter. PEI is a polymer film, capable of producing a wide soundstage. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.
